Working in the region since 2003, Travulous is the creation of Kristin McGee and Richard Pfäffli, the former Travel Provider and Tour Consultant for the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. With over 20 years of experience in the travel, tourism and events industries, they have extensive experience of designing one-of-a-kind luxury travel experiences in East Africa, for both the travel trade and customers who book direct with us.
From the provision of ground transfers, flights by light aircraft or helicopter and accommodation bookings for travellers, to the coordination of venue arrangements and food and beverage requirements, the Travulous team seamlessly enables our specialist Driver Guides and Tour Leaders to provide our guests with a unique Behind the Scenes insight into Mountain Gorilla Conservation, Big Five Conservation Initiatives, Endangered Wildlife Sanctuaries, Authentic Educational Experiences, History, Customs and Traditions. We take great pride in creating authentic, immersive and memorable travel itineraries and off-the-beaten-path activities, executing every trip in East Africa to perfection.
Dividing their time between Travulous’ offices in Kigali and Kampala, Kristin and Richard are avid explorers and travel enthusiasts. Their most recent trip involved driving an expedition-equipped 4x4 Land Cruiser from Kigali to the Maasai Mara and the Serengeti, where, as part of Travulous’ regular site inspections, they filmed some of their favourite tented camps and lodges.
Travulous’ company highlights include receiving the award of ‘Leading Experts in Tour Operations and Destination Management’ and operating one-of-a-kind tours and events personally guided and hosted by former research staff of gorilla primatologist, the late Dian Fossey.

OUR FLEET AND DRIVERS
Our fleet of vehicles includes custom-built 4x4 safari vehicles and luxury SUVs operated by our local Driver Guides. Our vehicles and safari equipment will cater for all requirements, including fully guided safaris, self-drive safaris, in addition to point-to-point transfers.
